  1. Prince of Thorns was the first book I read. I had added it to my amazon cart to hit the one day delivery minimum. I was hooked from the first page and in the last week of 2017 through end of Jan 2018, I read everything Mark had released! At least I didn’t have to wait long for Grey Sister when I was done!

  4. 1. The first one I read was Prince of Thorns and I picked it up because I was at the bookshop looking for a new series to start and it looked promising

    2. For now my favorite is King of Thorns because I really liked the narration fractionated between different timeline and I also liked how Jorg hit rock bottom (he was at his best and his worst in this book).

    3. I would really read more about Miana.

  6. First was Prince of Thorns that I picked up at random at a bookstore.
My favorite was King of Thorns because the split story made the payoffs really rewarding.
I’d like to read a story or two about Makin.

  7. I would love to read a short story or a longer story about Abbess Glass who is an amazing character or a prequel to The books of the ancestors that follows how the world ended up the way it did before the corridor was so narrow.

  8. First book I bought was Red Sister. Because I saw the good reviews on goodreads. My favorite book is Grey Sister, so awesome! And as a short story I would love to read more about sister Apple and her lovers and early life. And lost of all I can’t wait for Holy Sister!!

The Wheel of Osheim and Emporer of Thorns are tied for me, seeing the culmination of growth of Jal and Jorge always gets me.
I’d love to read a political intrigue centered around Abess Glass.

  13. First read was Prince of Thorns – Amazon recommendation based on other books I’ve read
Red Sister – absolutely love the subtle misdirection to the reader throughout the book – Sister Thorn, the chosen one, etc
I would love a short story on Regol and his training/fighting that takes place at the Caltess – or I would like a short story on Tarkax “the Ice-Spear” and the ice-tribes

  16. 1) My first was Red Sister! I found it in the library, and I’d seen loads of media about it, but it was the whole warrior nuns thing that made me actually take it out. I read till my eyes hurt then slept a few hours and got up early to read some more!

    2) I couldn’t stop reading Grey Sister – I loved Nona and Ara and Sisters Apple and Kettle and it was really cool seeing a little more of the role the sisters played in the political maelstrom.

    3) I love Sister Kettle and Sister Apple so I’d always be up for reading more!

    Happy holidays!

  18. 1. Prince of Thorns. If I find I can get passed the first two pages in the shop, I buy the book. I read the first chapter before I realised…

    2. A tie between Red Sister and Grey Sister, though the latter has some great action sequences.

    3. Abbess Glass, especially given the few hints about her past…

  19. 1. Prince of Thorns. Loved the cover art and summary was right up my alley.

    2. Prince of Thorns – Jorg. He’s the most intriguing character. So grey, heroic and demonic all at the same time. Am a little in love. Though Red Sister comes a close second with Nona.

    3. Chella. She just rocks and is an amazing antagonist. Little in love with her too. Loved the short story of her sister. Would love to get her background. Abbess Glass would be a close second. There is a lot more to that woman I’m guessing. Actually Regol would be interesting too. He feels like a very powerful character when he come to play.

  22. 1. Which of Mark’s books was the first one you read and what made you get a copy?
The very first book of Mark’s I read was Red Sister, and honestly? I just heard assassin nuns and I requested an ARC! And was so lucky to receive it, and I quickly fell completely in love!

    2. Do you have a favourite book by Mark? If yes, what makes it special for you?
For sure Red Sister is the book that is most special to me. It is the one that made me fall in love with not only Mark’s writing, but also his characters. It is so wild to me how much I love not only Nona, but the entire (large) cast of side characters. I think that’s something that’s really hard for many authors to accomplish, especially in grimdark, but Mark does it with ease.

    3. Which of his characters would you like to read about in a new short story?
I would commit a minor felony for anything that fully surrounded Apple and Kettle. Anything!

Thank you so much for the opportunity, Agnes! And I hope you’re having the happiest of holidays! 💖xx

  23. Hi Mark!

    1. The first book of yours I read was Prince of Thorns – I was searching for some new authors to dig into and your name kept popping up on my searches – I’ve now read them all!

    2. My favourite book (which might get dethroned by Holy Sister) is The Wheel of Osheim. I loved the Red Queens War and thought it was a thrilling conclusion to the series.

    3. I’d love some short stories about the older Sisters – Apple and Kettle maybe?

  24. My favorite book would have to be red sister because it deals with subject matter that if someone were to tell me a book about training preteen nuns in a post-apocalyptic type landscape that have strange powers not quite magic and it also deals with science fiction elements of traveling through the Stars I would never have thought it would have been one of my all-time favorite books to read but there you go it has been..

  27. The first book I ever read by Mark Lawrence was Prince of Thorns. I was searching the Amazon Kindle store and chose it based on the description. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the writing, and devoured the rest of the series. I think my favorite Mark Lawrence book is Prince of Fools, though I am hard-pressed to say which I actually have a preference for, I can read any of them at any time and enjoy it. I’ve already read the Prince of Thorns series 3 times and Prince of Fools twice. I’m very much looking forward to reading Holy Sister upon publication, whether I win the copy or not. Just know, Mark, you are appreciated as an author and storyteller!

    2. My favorite book is King of Thorns, because of the mountain motif, if that’s the right word. It was extremely inspiring, and was written extremely well. Also seeing Jorg overcome the impossible odds against him was great.

    3. I would love to read a short story about Snorri. He’s my favorite character Mark has written.
